Glass x Textile

I am focusing on how glass work in textile design can lead to a sensitive experience of light. Each glass artist I met explained their love for glass because of the way it escapes from our control. Indeed, glass is a surprising material thanks to its method of creation, its fragility, but most importantly for me its interactions with light. These give birth to a new and powerful imaginary world, a dreamed reality conveyed by poets like Virginia Woolf in her poem Blue & Green. Through stained glass, glass has also acquired a sacred culture based on its conversion of natural light into divine light. These aspects drew me to create textiles partly made with glass in order to explore the capacity of light to reflect itself in space and create a common space between people and materials.
